IF I COULD MAKE IT BETTER FOR YOU...

IF I COULD MAKE IT BETTER FOR YOU . . .

If I had the ability to write something each day that would encourage you, what would it be?
What would help you most? Devotional thoughts? Inspirational tidbits designed to kick negative vibes to the curb?
Little power minutes several times each day? Is your personality such that a few minutes each morning will flip your switch for the rest of the day?
If I could write messages a time or two each week that toss some pizzazz and spark into your life, would that be good?
Well, I can. I do.
That’s why 2nd Cup of Coffee now exists again as a blog. It allows you to be involved in the creative process. As I write into your life, you can respond. The more honest you are in helping me understand what’s going on in your world and how I can come alongside you as Chief Encouragement Officer, the better this gets.
I know the current blog format is a bit more wooden than I prefer. Those who’ve been 2nd Cuppers from way back know I love to use visuals: pics, memes, etc. However, I wanted to get these weekly visits active and growing as soon as possible, so I had a tech-savvy friend help me put this inexpensive format together. Sadly, it does not allow visuals. Such will not long be the case.
And, yes, there’s a place for your comments. Unfortunately, it resides clear at the bottom of all my posted 2nd Cup articles, meaning to send me some feedback, you just need to scroll all the way down to the bottom where you’ll find a comments area. Feel free. As you do so, you might even find some previous posts you haven’t yet read.
For those who are curious, yes, I’m actively working on a couple of books. Let this tickler whet your appetite for TIME TRIALS…
Healing is when you stop telling the story of what broke you and start living and telling the story that’s rebuilding you.
Blogs are a nickel a dozen. What makes 2nd Cup shine is our history together, the personal connection I have with you. The personal contact and individual responses I get that keep me on track by answering questions you really are asking. Or, failing that, at least learning together how to ask better questions!
By now you know my writing style. You know by now the quirky characters that usually sit around in Granger’s comfortable office sipping his coffee: Arlough… Sparks… Raven Wing…even a new friend, Art Jensen who owns Granger’s new office---but more about that in coming weeks and months. Hopefully you now feel like you could join them. If you’re a veteran 2nd Cupper, you’ve earned a spot, even if we need to pull another chair or two over.
And if you’re brand new to 2nd Cup of Coffee and stuck your head in the door because a friend told you it might be fun to drop by? Please feel welcome. And invite your friends. Even if you never much liked coffee before, you might learn to enjoy a cup now and then.
A lot depends on the company you’re with.
You are what this is about. The more we interact, the better I get at what I do.
We were put here for one another. God created us to work together in this life. Whether we’re fast friends across long decades or aren’t yet acquainted, my role here is to lift and strengthen you. Your role is to pass that brightness and energy on to others by inviting them to come on in a time or two each week and take a load off. Visit over a refill or two, recharge your batteries and get on about rocking your world for all the right reasons.
Back around 1880, Anthony Trollope wrote, “There is no way of writing well and also of writing easily.” He was saying that what is on a writer’s heart may have a strong tide, a storm surge of passion needing immediate attention. It often seems like a relentless flow, a flashflood of insight. Yet the deeper the passion and focus, the greater its demands. Writing well requires thought, consistency and sustained effort.
I love what I do. I love much more connecting it to you, using my gifts to lift, encourage, edify, and challenge you to personal and spiritual excellence. The more we do this together, the better it gets. I pledge to write as you pledge to read and respond.
I’ll leave you with a couple of quotations to think about while I get to work on the next chapter in this ongoing saga . . .
Ellen Goodman: I have never been especially impressed by the heroics of people who are convinced they are about to change the world. I am more awed by those who struggle to make one small difference after another.
I’m here to write readable articles and keep working on books that have a little something each day to lighten your load.
I've no clue who wrote this one. Give it some thought.
Excuses are nothing more than WELL-PLANNED & THOUGHT-OUT LIES, that we tell ourselves & others, that keep the doors of opportunity to your dreams & goals sealed & shut. They will ALWAYS keep you in & give you more of your present circumstances. –Unknown
My dream, my goal is for everything I write to have a positive impact on your life and urge you on towards personal and spiritual growth. And that, friend, will get you and I both closer to fulfilling our dreams!
I love you and I believe in you. ~I used to write that a lot. At some point I got too busy, too preoccupied, too—something. Anyhoodles, I’m adding it here to remind you. Somebody out here cares about you.
