100-Word Stroll, 6/29/17: MORE THAN A MERE MEME

They’re written and decorated different, yet all seem to agree:  “All I need is some coffee and a whole lotta Jesus!”  Before you do that curly-lip thing and look for something more fun or creative, slosh some more joe in your cup and walk with me . . .

With me, it started out with a lotta coffee and a little Jesus.  I admit it.  Took some doing to sit there and focus on, well, words in the Bible.  Bo–ring.

Oh.  Right.  Prayed a little over the words, waved my highlighter over them and prayed toward K.C.  Got it; we’re good–right, God?

As I grew in faith through Jesus, the ‘little’ started stretching.  A few grudging or confusing verses began morphing into personal messages written by The Friend Who Sticks Closer Than A Brother.

Ten minutes became ten chapters.  Time was no longer the measure; the Message was.

Now, I still enjoy plenty of fresh-ground, hot java each morning.  First thing I do is cut own the coffeemaker.  Y’all from southern Kansas will get ‘cut own’.  The rest’ll just have to be jealous.

Point?  Every day starts now with a whole lotta Jesus, while enjoying a whole lotta great joe.  The Word and the Word.  Yeah.  It’s Light and Life – just as He is.  No–I don’t always devour ten chapters.  I simply don’t allow Time to intrude; I spend Time with Him, listening with a learner’s heart and a writer’s eye.

Can’t get by without Him or it – and don’t care to try.

Time to get my 2 miles in.

Oh–I love you, and I believe in you.
