100-Word Strolls: AN UNKNOWN CI SURVIVOR’S PRAYER

Posted by on July 28, 2016

CI is chronic illness.  Because it and its symptoms are often hidden most never realize it’s there.  CI is very real and it can be life-threatening.  I live with CI and want to share this prayer I recently found.

I pray to have a heart of love.

That in this life I choose to give, and that my heart has compassion

For those who need to see it;

That through trials I get better, not bitter,

And that wisdom comes from the deepest wounds.

Through the darkest of times came a survivor who made it

when I didn’t think I could.

I pray to give others hope when they feel hopeless

As others did for me.

Mostly I pray to be a voice for the voiceless

To help them find their way.
