Good morning, 2nd Cuppers. I’m doing something here I rarely do–namely, sending along a politically- based article. Well, at least the link to it.
I understand truth is often the first casualty in any election cycle. It gets shaded, shaved, shorn and skewered. I get that. It’s like watching the prosecution and defense counsels who’d just been excoriating each other with blistering epithets walking out together after the verdict.
“Olive Garden?”
“Sounds good. I’ll buy.”
“You sure you’re a lawyer?”
And they walk off laughing.
I cannot, will not countenance knowing of a good and decent man being publicly humiliated and having carefully-engineered outright lies laid at his feet without speaking up. Therefore, I’m sending this link in hopes that you’re not so jaded and worn smooth from the incessant cacophony of the past year that you won’t read this article through.
It isn’t my place to tell you how to vote or for whom. My goal here is for you to at least know this testimony from two staffers whose careers have caused them to know this man.
Please. Read. You may still want nothing to do with his candidacy, but make that choice based on fact and not falsehood. If nothing else, you can at least help stop the foolish gossip that has in ignorance encouraged spite and hatred. I’m ashamed of some people I thought had better sense.
Here’s the article:
Thank you. People with their own strategies have lied about both you and me. A few thought they were doing the right thing; most knew better going in. It hurt, didn’t it? Well? Didn’t it?
If I were Senator Cruz, I’d at least like to know I’d won or lost on the merits of who I really am, and not a manufactured caricature intended to assassinate my character and reputation before the votes are even counted.
